Welcome
Welcome to the 3rd Annual Scare-N-Share!
September 19 – October 24, 2011
Scare-N-Share is a Halloween costume collection drive and fundraiser benefiting Roy Maas’ Youth Alternatives and SA Youth.
Over the last two years, we’ve collected over 300 costumes. This year, with more children, we’re asking you to donate your new or gently used costumes that will go directly to the children in the care of Roy Maas’ Youth Alternatives and attend SA Youth programs.
If you are a business owner, and would like to help, we can place a box in your business to collect costumes. In addition, many companies are also offering special promotions during the Scare-n-Share campaign, where a portion of proceeds from the sale of an item will go directly to support RMYA and SA Youth’s children. However you can help and participate will be greatly appreciated.
Halloween happens only once a year, but for many children in our community, they know what it’s like to feel fear and dread the other 364 days too. Fear of getting left behind. Fear caused by economic insecurity. Fear of becoming victims of their circumstances. Fear of abuse. Fear of neglect. Fear of starvation and homelessness. These are just a few of the “monsters” under their beds and many of these youngsters dream about being someone else, if only for one night. Now they can, thanks to Scare-n-Share, a campaign started in 2009 that reaches out to the community to collect gently used and new costumes to who deliver to the youth in the care of Roy Maas’ Youth Alternatives and attend SA Youth programs.
